Rockies a Timeless Treasure

International Show Information

The International Show Committee would like to welcome you to the 29th annual Rocky Mountain International Grand Championship Horse Show.  Planning has been ongoing since last year hoping to create another exceptional event for our exhibitors as well as for our spectators and vendors.  We celebrate the “Rockies ~ A Timeless Treasure” and all who love them!  The traditions of the past have built a solid foundation for the future growth and development of our breed as we move forward. Thank you for being part of this wonderful celebration of the horse! We hope that you will enjoy, not only the thrill of the competition, but that you will have a great time gathering with old friends and making new ones throughout the week.   The International is a perfect time to socialize as we watch the beauty of our Rockies on display.  The RMHA Youth committee is excited! They are preparing many fun activities for our youth members to enjoy at the 2017 International. There will be raffle items again this year. With our youth – the FUTURE is BRIGHT! You will find great satisfaction knowing your dollars go to support the Youth Camp which allows youth to participate at NO Cost. Thank you for your past support. We anticipate even more participation and future growth for our kids. Volunteers are needed to help with ribbon presenting, to work at the RMHA booth, to open the entry and exit gates etc.  The RMHA is an organization that has been built on the efforts of volunteers.  Come be part of the rhythm of the RMHA. Please contact the show manager or the RMHA office to volunteer. There is sure to be excitement in the air as you venture around the concourse shopping at specialized vendor booths.  There will be more opportunities to purchase “everything horse” this year. There will be new vendors to enjoy in 2017! Members and visitors to the park will have the opportunity to Ride a Rocky once again.  Owners will be able to get their Rocky certified.  If you are looking for outstanding examples of the breed, you won’t want to miss the RMHA Stallion Parade.    Check the web site often . . . information will be updated as it becomes available. Information will also be on Face Book. Be sure to stay informed . . . You don’t want to miss any of the action this year!

Silent Auctions   You won’t believe how many stallion owners have donated breeding's to help benefit the RMHA Youth. Stallions have been advertised on Facebook. Spring 2018 will be here and you’ll be looking for that perfect sire for your next foal.  Support the youth – the future of the RMHA.

Certification Examiners will be available at the Kentucky Horse Park to certify horses on September 6th from 3-5 PM. You must provide the ORIGINAL registration papers for the horse to be certified. This certification will take place near the exit gate of the arena. If you bring 4 photos* (front, rear & both sides) and the correct fee, you will be able to qualify to show. *make sure that the feet are clear of tall grass or other obstacles in your photos.

Membership Meeting / President’s Reception ~ 6:00 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017 All members are invited to attend the Membership Meeting / President’s Reception in the meeting room upstairs that overlooks the Covered Arena. Come join together with fellow members to discuss RMHA business. A light supper will be served.

Pink Class Once again the RMHA International will join together in the fight against breast cancer by having a “Pink Class”. Both adults and youth are encouraged to participate, so there will be no stallions allowed in this class. There will be a minimum of $10 to enter the class (but larger donations will gladly be accepted).  The class will be walk only and be judged on the best “pink” turn-out by honorary judges. The entrant accumulating the highest donation for the class (entrants may solicit donations from whomever they like and turn them in to the show office) will also be recognized. Come get your pink on and enjoy this worthy cause!

Ride-A-Rocky We are proud to offer the opportunity for folks to Ride-A-Rocky at the International this year. Individuals who have never had the chance to ride the smooth gait and experience our horses’ puppy dog personality are in for a real treat. Please sign up in the RMHA office area at the show. There will be a limited number of times available. Ride-A-Rocky will be held outside near the arena used for trail obstacle from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9th.   Stallion Parade This year for the RMHA the International Show Committee is proud to announce that we will again feature a Stallion Parade that will be held on Saturday, September 9th at 1:00 pm. It will be a great opportunity to see RMH breeding stallions at their finest. Each stallion entered will have a short bio read while he is performing during a two minute exhibition. Visitors will be welcome to walk the barns and visit these horses located throughout the barns (please do not touch stallions without permission). Come on out and watch these majestic stallions strut their stuff!

Shopping Yes, shopping is an event! Come check out all the great vendors at the International this year! We are excited that so many of our previous vendors are returning as well as many new folks. There’s great opportunity to stock up on all those “horsey” items for family and friends.

A special section is available on the concourse of the Covered Arena. Come check out all the fun!
